Jane is a young girl living with an intellectual disability, learning and understanding the world at her own pace. Like most of the children Zikar Child Fund supports, her family struggles to afford school fees and even daily food — which makes it even harder for her to stay in school and keep up with other children. With patient, specialised support, school fees and a caring community, Jane can keep learning and growing with dignity.
Jane Akinyi is one of the children Zikar Child Fund identified in the community living with intellectual disability. For children like Jane, we provide wheelchairs and mobility aids, pay school fees, supply school uniforms, food, diapers and sanitary pads in schools, settle hospital bills directly, and provide bedding where needed. Every contribution goes straight to these practical needs through our verified channels — never as cash to guardians.
