Zikar Child Fund was forged out of real personal struggle, grassroots endurance, and ultimate triumph.
Founded by Mrs. Roseline Nyakeriga after facing incredible challenges raising funds for her son, who was born with a severe heart condition, requiring regular hospital check-ups.
Her son's condition critically deteriorated, requiring urgent treatment with a staggering price tag of Ksh. 4.7 Million. Reaching out to friends and family yielded only Ksh. 37,000.
Undeterred, Mrs. Roseline launched an open-air public fundraising campaign, utilizing her father's pickup truck to conduct local roadshows across marketplaces and churches to share her story.
With her son fully recovered, thriving, and pursuing his university education as a second-year student, Mrs. Roseline officially registered Zikar Child Fund to scale this life-saving blueprint for other families.
Zikar Child Fund was founded by Mrs. Roseline Nyakeriga, who turned her own painful journey into hope for others. After fighting to raise funds for her son's life-threatening heart condition — and refusing to give up when the bills seemed impossible — she built Zikar Child Fund so that no family would have to face that struggle alone. Today she leads our mission to stand with children living with illness and disability across our community.
